With your help, SJGF provides children who are in the hospital, with a ‘Little Box of Sunshine’ filled with simple gifts that bring joy, big smiles and fun.
Groups help make this program possible by collecting the recommended items, adding their special touch and then participating in a packing party to pack the ‘Little Box of Sunshine’. These care packages are given to children who are being cared for at Inova Children’s Hospital in Fairfax, The Children’s Inn at NIH, Inova Schar Cancer Center , CAMC Women and Children's Hospital in WV and Care Connection for Children.

Your family, friends, workplace, church, club, or group can bring SUNSHINE on a Rainy Day to children in the hospital or at the clinic!
how you can help
Let's get this party (with a purpose) started! Choose a month, rally your group of helpers, and create a sign up so everyone can select items to contribute. Companies often purchase the items beforehand and have their team pack the boxes as a team-building activity. There are 3 different age groups to choose from, when spreading this happy sunshine!
SJGF provides the instructions, recommended collection list and yellow (very sunshine-y) boxes; your group fills them with a whole lotta happy and love!
If schedules allow, our Founder, Sara, will attend the packing party to share about SJGF and help facilitate the packing.
